Right now, National Grid, the corporate utility covering part of NYC and Long Island wants to raise our rates, the highest in the nation, to expand more fossil fuels, including the North Brooklyn (MRI) Pipeline and LNG expansion on Newtown Creek in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in an opaque process in a boardroom. We know that more fossil fuels anywhere puts the climate at risk for everyone. Their request to invest our rate-payer dollars into more fossil fuels goes against what our community wants, and goes against our climate law.
